Pro Black

Many years ago a black student came to me for advice (he is now over 21 and granted me permission to share this). I was his African American Literature teacher and he was conflicted about dating a young lady of a different race.

He saw me as a trusted confidant, as I am black and he knew my then significant other (now hubby) is white.

He was confused how someone like me; one who is passionate about the progress, the image and the overall well being of her people could be in love with someone of a different race. I simply shared with him that being pro black does not mean being anti white; his mind was blown.

Pump your fist and fight the good fight, but at the end of the day, if your cause asks you to be ANTI anything, there is chance it may not be a good one.

Have you started your 21 Day Countdown to a Better You?
